Ophthalmic Metrology

When developing optical test instruments for ophthalmology TRIOPTICS has relied on a broad experience in optical testing, optimization for mass production and in-house software development. All instruments are optimized for ophthalmic lenses and provide accurate and repeatable measuring results.
OptiSpheric® IOL
Characterization of intraocular lenses

  • Measurement of dioptric power and Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) of intraocular lenses
  • Measurement of monofocal, multifocal (refractive and diffractive), aspherical and toric lenses in air and in situ in compliance with ISO 11979
  • Additional measurement parameters: Radius of curvature, back focal length, effective focal length, relative transmission, through focus MTF
  • High accuracy of 0.1% to 0.2% on dioptric power, 2% on MTF
  • Measurement of single lenses with model eye or high volume production testing in air and in situ
  • High speed testing: 5 sec/lens for simultaneous dioptric power and MTF measurement
  • Ultra-accurate fast autofocus function

  • Optispheric IOL
    WaveMaster® IOL
    Wavefront measurement of intraocular lenses

  • Real time wavefront measurement of intraocular lenses in air and in situ in compliance with ISO 11979
  • Measurement and analysis results: Dioptric power, aberrations, Zernike coefficients, power mapping, 2D Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), Effective Focal Length (EFL), Point Spread Function (PSF)
  • High accuracy (lambda/20) and dynamic range (1500 lambda) for wavefront measurement
  • Lens diameter 0.5 to 15 mm
  • Power range -100 to 100 D in model eye with model cornea, absolute accuracy 0.1 to 0.3%
  • Real time measurement (10 Hz) for wavefront, MTF and aberrations
  • Short measurement time of 5 sec for dioptric power
