Precitec has developed a new generation of sensors, the CHRocodile MPS 2L flexible Multi-Point Sensor, offering up to 24 simultaneous and independent non-contact measurements in distance and thickness mode.
Together with the newly developed line probes one can measure two lines of 12 points each. The measuring points are distributed on a line with a length of up to 12.5 mm. Since the channels can be addressed independently, other configurations, such as using one line probe and up to 12 additional point probes can be used.
This enables the possibility to use a line probe with a pitch of 1mm for critical zones of the container, while for the less critical zones a larger pitch of 2 mm or 4mm might be favored. With this great flexibility, together with the small footprint the CHRocodile MPS 2L is particularly suitable for inline inspections of container glass at the hot and cold end.
The optical multi point sensor MPS 96 from Precitec Optronik offers 96 channels for measuring wall thickness of transparent objects. Due to the contact-free measuring technology, the MPS 96 is advantageous over tactile measuring probes, since neither the optical probe nor the measured material can be damaged.
With 10 mm measuring range and only 8mm in diameter the compact pen-probe is ideally suited for operating in measuring machines. By using a large number of probes simultaneously, the measuring time for large surfaces can be reduced drastically compared to conventional point sensors.
With this, the MPS 96 makes quality control of for instance windshields or other large-scale flat glasses more rapid and precise, leading to a significant reduction in production time and costs.
