The range of optical probes from Precitec Optronik is, by design, very broad so that there will always be an optimum probe for any one of the huge variety of applications tasks faced by metrologists.

 

The probes range from the 100µm probe with a resolution of less than 5nm right up to the 25mm probe with a resolution of just under 1µm. While others also make optical probes for use in distance and thickness measurement, the products from Precitec Optronik are easily differentiated by having a greater numerical aperture - hence less sensitivity to slope error - and higher efficiency than the rest. Alongside the range of probes operating with white light is a range of probes designed initially for interferometric thickness measurements of silicon wafers but which can be adapted to measure distance simultaneously.
